Shelter Cove is located approximately 200 miles north of San Francisco. The closest airports are the Arcata/Eureka airport (north of Shelter Cove), that is 2 hours away by car. The Oakland Airport and the San Francisco airport are about 5-1/2 to 6-1/2 hours away by car. There is also a light plane landing strip right here in the community. To drive in to Shelter Cove take Highway 101 to Garberville or Redway. After the turnoff from U.S. Highway 101, the road begins to climb and then drops down to the coast. Link to Google Maps.
