Shelter Cove Vacation Rental
With inviting Humboldt County and the Lost Coast as the backdrop, your stay at the 'Shell House' is sure to be enjoyable and relaxing. This is a full home rental so you and your guests will have use of the whole house. Be prepared for a quiet enriching experience.
Vacation Rental House Policies
- At the time of reservation, there is a $200 deposit, and it will be returned after the house inspection.
- Smoking in the house is not permitted.
- No unsupervised babies or toddlers. The Shell House is not child safe, and we care about their safety.
- Pets may be considered on a case basis.
- No fish cleaning in the house. Please use the cleaning station at the boat launch.
- Shelter Cove residents prefer to leave their porch lights off at night for maximum enjoyment of the moon and stars—a wondrous sight.
- The closest airport is San Francisco at about 200 miles and 6-1/2 hours driving time.
- Recreational activities--golf, fishing (charter services), swimming (summer only), surfing and backpacking and hiking trails along the coastline, tidal pool exploration, whale watching (January, February, March).
- The King Range Conservation area of Humboldt County, California is known as California's "Lost Coast" and is accessible by car or light airplane landing strip located in the community.
- Shell House is located one block from "Black Sand Beach." The beaches are never crowded, even in the high season. There are three restaurants, tackle shop, boat launch, golf course, gift shop.
- The most important policy of all is to relax and have fun!

The Shell House has 3 cozy bedrooms (one with 2 twin beds), satellite T.V., VCR, two bathrooms, jacuzzi deck with a great view, full kitchen, garage, washer & dryer and is fully furnished.
